What I Bought Today:

After seeing advertisements everywhere for the new Barry M Magnetic Nail Paint, I was actually in two minds whether to try it or not. I'd always heard good things about the Nails Inc magnetic polish, but at £13 I was unsure as to whether I would actually use it as much. Now, seeing that the Barry M polish was only £4.99, this definitely tipped my decision. There were only three colours and magnetic styles available in the Superdrug near me, so I settled for the black. I'm actually looking forward to trying this out and writing a review, so this is a must watch!

I was primarily looking for an outfit to wear for the annual bank holiday 'Birthday Night Out', which will be happening on Sunday. I would this gem in River Island after stumbling in not really hoping to find anything. I personally can never find anything I like in River Island, so I wasn't really filled with confidence, but as soon as I spotted this dress I loved it. I realise the picture is not good quality, so I will take another when I have the time, but I cannot wait to wear it.

The length comes to just below the knee, with the back of the dress being slightly longer, which I think looks really nice. It is also really light-weight and doesn't cling, so I'm thinking this could be another option which I could take to Egypt. It is classic shirt-style, which about seven or eight buttons leading down to a slightly elasticated waist.

This is the back of the dress, which I actually didn't realise until I tried it on. The top of the dress crosses over, and there's a slight cut-out just below the shoulders (as you can see.) It's a really nice touch, and gives it a bit more detail instead of just being a plain cut. I love the pattern too, and to be honest I was a bit unsure about it at first, but I decided to be daring!

Glossy Box May 2012: The Birthday Box

I've been slacking with my blogging recently, so I've only just got round to writing about this months Glossy Box. This month is the anniversary 'Happy Birthday' box, as Glossy Box has been around now for a year. This made me excited, as I wondered what birthday treats would be included in the box this month. I loved the pink box and the cute pink packaging, which was covered in compact mirrors and makeup pallets. Really cute!

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel, Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum & Si Lolita, Apivita Express Beauty Masks, Osmo Hair Treatment and Eldora False Eyelashes (£10.50 plus p+p)

As well as all these goodies, there was also a cute compact Glossy Box mirror included too, as well as a pink Happy Birthday balloon. These were really nice touches to go with the other treats and even though this is only my second box, it is definitely my favourite. I can't wait to try out the samples, and I definitely intend to wear the eyelashes on my 21st birthday night out.

Sneak Peak: Glossy Box May 2012: The Birthday Box

Its finally here! I'm not going to do a blog yet in case I give anything away, but all I will say is that I am very happy with this month's box. It is packed so nicely and you get some really cute surprises as well as your samples. I'll probably do a real post on it in a couple of days when I've had chance to have a good look through.

Has anyone else received theirs yet? What do you all think?

April Glossy Box Recap - My Favourite Item

I've just received my second Glossy Box, so before blogging about it and spoiling it for those of you who may not have yours, I thought I'd do a little recap on April's box. This was my first one, and I was really excited to receive it and look what goodies I had. The April edition was all about natural products, and there was one in particular that I loved and have been using ever since...

Figs and Rouge 'Rambling Rose' Balm - Glossy Box

The Figs and Rouge 'Rambling Rose' balm is my all time favourite! It is one of the nicest balms I've ever tried, and is the product I am most pleased about receiving. The packaging is so cute and eye catching, and you can buy a full sized pot for about £4 (or just under.)

I use it on my lips, like you would any other balm, and immediately it removes any dry skin or hard patches. I didn't realise that it could be used as a body balm too, and to be honest I wasn't too keen on the idea as if you use too much it can become very greasy. The texture is quite gritty, but I think it works the best to soften sore and chapped lips. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who often suffers from sore lips, and really anyone who would like a change from the typical Vaseline tins.

A little catch-up

I've been so busy recently with university work, so busy that I haven't really had the chance to do any real blog posts. Well, tomorrow my last EVER university assignment has to be handed in... and I'm a little bit sad. This means it is now time to go out and find a real job, which doesn't consist of eight hours of work at the weekend, scaryyyyy...

I think I'll actually miss most things about university, apart from exams because I hate exams! I actually have one next Friday, and I am so so scared. I'm one of those people who revises so much and is really thorough, but as soon as I sit down in the room, everything I've got in my head is gone. I'm definitely going to have to concentrate for this one.

There's not much else happening at the minute. I don't even have much of a social life. Two weeks today, it will be my 21st birthday, and I absolutely cannot wait. I love birthdays! and apparently 21 is quite a big one, which means I get an excuse to drown my sorrows because I'm getting old.

I've been buying a lot of new beauty and skin products recently, so I've been making notes of things I want to review soon. I'm also going into town again today, yet again, so no doubt there will be a post later about todays buys.

The list is going to be as long as my arm soon...

Today's Buys

Shirt (£14), Underwear (£2) and Anklet (£4) - All Matalan.
Hair Removal Mitts (97p) - Wilko
BB Cream, Aussie Miracle Conditioner, Toni&Guy Hairspray and Acetone - Superdrug

So I had another little trip into town today, which is all I ever seem to do now I've left university. (Apart from work, obviously..) I didn't really want anything in particular, but whenever I go with my Mum she's such a bad influence and makes me buy things! Honest!

Most of these mini things are for my up and coming holiday to Egypt in June. The BB Cream was an impulse buy, just to try out and see if it actually works. If you read my posts, you will know I have a love-hate relationship with BB Creams until the other month when I tried a lovely one. Hopefully this one is good too.

I've had my eye on this shirt for a few weeks now. I work at Matalan, so obviously when new stocks comes in I always have a little peek, and I could not make my mind up on this shirt. I tried it on today, and fell in love! The print is so lovely, and runs down each side, while the rest is black, so it isn't too over the top. Its also sleeveless, so I can wear it in the summer too. Very happy I finally bought it (was probably due to my mother.)

This is an anklet, again from Matalan, and I always wear them on holiday so I thought I've got to keep up the trend.

Today's Buys

I had a little trip to Meadowhall today to try and find myself an outfit for my birthday. Obviously, I couldn't find a thing I liked, so I decided to spend my money elsewhere. My friend had never EVER been in Tk Maxx, so I had to take her for her first look seeing as I'd never been in the new one in Meadowhall. I can never be bothered to look through the clothes, but I always love to have a rummage through the shoes and bags.

My friend decided she wanted some new sunglasses, so while she was having a browse I came across these beauties! Karl Lagerfeld sunglasses! They're absolute beauties, the an axe down each arm, and a signature at the top of one of the lenses. The price tag said £115, and I was gutted, until I saw £24.99...Hello bargain!

I don't usually go for big sunglasses as my head is absolutely tiny, but I really love these. I just need the sun to come out now so I can start wearing them.

The huge ring is from Primark, and was £2.50 I think. I've got a real thing for rings at the minute and as soon as I saw this I had to have it. Primark rings are always sure to leave a horrible green ring round my finger, so my top tip is to apply some clear nail polish around the inside of the ring. Then obviously top it up as you need to, this usually happens if you wear it a lot.

Review: Sasy n Savy Rose Lavender Hand n Nail Repair Creme

I received this little sample with my April Latest in Beauty box. I'd been looking for a good hand and nail cream, because I have a (big) habit of biting my nails. I've been painting them recently, which has stopped me and my nails have grown lovely, its just the problem of sore skin around them. Anyway, so I have been looking for a nice cream and I was quite happy when I saw I could choose this for my box.

Sasy and Savy Rose Lavender Hand N Nail Repair Creme. (£1.50)

The cream smells amazing! It is 'Rose and Lavender', and really is so nice. You only need a tiny bit and it just about does every finger on one hand. I've just been putting it on my nails and the sore areas around them, and it really soothes them. It isn't greasy or heavy like most hand creams, and it rubs in very easily so you can't even tell its on your hands.

I've been using it for about two weeks now and I can honestly say I wouldn't leave home without it. I carry it in my bag and apply it a few times a day, and it has really helped my hands and my nails too. I'm going to look into buying a full sized tube of this to use, even though I really like this mini because its so easy to carry around.

I will post some pictures of my hands before and after using it to show you how good it has worked.
