Latest In Beauty Samples - January

Latest In Beauty's Little Beauty Box - £1.50 (plus p+p)

Its been a while since I've had the chance to try any samples that Latest In Beauty have had on offer, purely because I've been so busy I just haven't had time. A few months ago I found that I had actually tried all the samples on offer at Latest In Beauty, or at least the ones I actually wanted to try. I decided to give it a few months to see if anything new came up so I wasn't just requesting things to try for the sake of it. Anyway the waiting paid off and there were actually some samples I liked the look of this month.

The first sample I received was the Britney Spears fragrance duo, which consisted of Fantasy and Midnight. I love trying perfumes and I'm always looking for something new, so it made sense to try these as I'd never smelt anything Britney before. To be honest I didn't really like either of these as I just thought they were quite musky and heavy. I'll not talk about them a lot in this post as I'll be doing a proper review soon, but first impressions weren't all good on these.

The second sample I received was Weleda Cellulite Oil. In all honesty I don't have any cellulite (yet) but from reading the reviews I actually quite liked the sound of it. Its more of a massage oil that is supposed to help tackle cellulite, so I'm sure it will come in handy one day. I was thinking that I could maybe do some extra research and start to use it in hope that it will prevent cellulite? I don't know, but watch this space.

The third sample I received was the Kim Kardashian fragrance, which I absolutely LOVE! It was one of those things that I really didn't think I would like, but after the tiniest smell I fell in love and I actually really want to buy it. There will be a review coming soon, so watch this space.

What do you think of the samples? Which ones would you like to try?

Latest In Beauty - October Samples

Little Beauty Box - £1.50

This little box is something that I've blogged about for a while now, but I always seem to blog about how disappointed I am with it. I know for £1.50 there's not going to be massively amazing samples in it, but I always hope that the samples are going to be better. The good thing about this with Latest In Beauty is that you can actually choose three samples you would like to try, so you do know what you're getting. When it came to ordering my samples for this month I was wondering whether it would be worth it, but as usual I went ahead anyway. I chose Beauty Fixation Nail Polish Touch-ups, Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Facial and Green People Sun Lotion.

I was actually happy that I chose these samples and it was a big bonus that there was something I hadn't tried before. I didn't think much of it when I ordered the samples, but when they arrived today I was so so happy. The first thing that caught my eye was the Nail Polish Touch-ups, just because its something that I ALWAYS need when I'm doing my nails since I can never keep the polish off my fingers. You literally snap one end of the cotton bud and the nail polish corrector is fed onto the bottom bud, so you can mop up any mistakes. Absolutely genius! I can't wait to use these and write a proper review for you all.

The sun lotion is actually something that I definitely won't be using, seeing as it's October and freezing, but I'm going to put it away for next summer. You never know when little sachets of sun lotion may come in handy on holiday, especially to just use on your face. The Active Reverse Facial looks pretty interesting and at the minute I'm a little obsessed with products like this, and trying them out. It says that after one use you will feel a change in your skin, making it brighter and tauter, apparently. No doubt this will be used and reviewed soon too.

Since I've cancelled my Glossy Box subscription, I may be turning to little cheap boxes like this more often for new things to try. What do you think to the samples?

Latest In Beauty - August Little Beauty Box

Little Beauty Box - August 2012 (£1.50)

I wish I knew why I keep ordering this cute little box... to be honest, I think it's the amazing price for three decent samples. The only problem is that now when I go on to order, I kind of don't have anything new to choose from as I must have tried every sample going. I've had to resort to ordering an occasional man's sample, which my Dad and Brother are beginning to love.

This month I ended up ordering one sample that I was interested in, then settling for something I already have and substituting with a Nivea For Men sample (which my Dad will be pleased about.) I already have the Sun Shots sun protection sachet but they will be very handy for when I go away on Sunday. The little sachets are a decent size and will be perfect to throw in my bag and use just for my face - so I'll keep you updated on how that goes. The sample I was really interested in getting is the Monu Extra Rich Night Cream.

For starters the full sized pot of this stuff is £36, so £1.50 for a little tester is all good in my books. I'm really loving anything for my skin at the minute so this is the perfect thing for me to try, seeing as though my skin seems to be skipping from good to bad all the time. Monu describe this night cream as luxurious and say that it will intensively nourish and firm your skin whilst you sleep, so, I'm going to put it to the test. It's full of Vitamin A, C and E which all help to promote Collagen production and make your skin feel super healthy. Here's me hoping that it's as good as it sounds.

There will definitely be some reviews coming soon of these two products, so watch this space!

Latest In Beauty Samples - July

Latest In Beauty Samples - £1.50

I haven't ordered any samples from Latest In Beauty for a while, so I decided to make a sneaky order while I had some spare time. To be honest when I looked at the choice of samples to order, I wasn't exactly jumping for joy at anything. Half of the products are things I have already tried, and the other half are things that I either don't like or don't suit me. So after reading lots of reviews I ended up ordering these two new samples and a random one that I don't like. Latest In Beauty doesn't let you order the same sample twice, or it won't for me, so anything that I'd like to try again is out of bounds.

I decided to try Lavera Organic Rose Eye Gel and Yardley Peony EDT. I like the idea of these two samples and I always like to smell new perfumes, so I guess they were okay for me. The Rose Eye Gel is created especially for dry and 'mature skin' and is supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Its safe to say that I don't yet have wrinkles but my skin does get quite dry, so this could be good for me.

The Yardley Peony EDT smells lovely and is really summery. It has tones of green leaves, peony flower, red currant, geranium and amber - these all help to bring out its floral scent. I actually really like the smell of this perfume, but I'm not so sure that I would buy it. I put three or four drops onto my wrist to test and it was so over powering, which totally ruined the smell altogether. I tried two drops the day after and it was a lot better, but I can see it being quite over powering and heavy if you accidentally put too much on.

I shall get back to you with my review on the Eye Gel, but overall I do quite like the scent of the Yardley perfume. I wouldn't buy it for myself but as a sample it was nice to try, and I will definitely keep it just in case I ever need a little backup spritz.

Latest In Beauty Samples

I meant to write about this set of samples quite a while ago, but it seemed to slip my mind in between the last bits of university work and sorting out things for my holiday. I'm a big fan of Latest In Beauty and have been ever since I ordered my first samples, the main reason being the £1.50 you pay. I like to try out new products that maybe aren't as mainstream, and it is guaranteed there are always this kind of option for you to pick when you choose your three samples.

I'm always looking for new skin care samples or any moisturiser products, so I opted for the Liz Earle Skin Tint and the L'Occitane Devine Cream straight away. I was looking forward to the L'Occitane product the most as I have read a lot of good things about their products, and I've been looking to try something for a while.

I use Tresemme products quite a lot, or whenever my mum impulse buys them, and they have always been really good on my hair. I got two of the samples in the image above, but I took one in my suitcase to Egypt and used it while I was there. The leave in treatment was the best of the three, as it left my hair feeling amazing after the battering it took from the sun, the salt water and the chlorine. The shampoo and conditioner were also very good, but you couldn't really see or feel a difference between these and any other similar products.

I shall be trying out the Liz Earle and the L'Occitane products in the next few days, so reviews will more than likely follow. I have my hopes set high for these two.

Review: Sasy n Savy Rose Lavender Hand n Nail Repair Creme

I received this little sample with my April Latest in Beauty box. I'd been looking for a good hand and nail cream, because I have a (big) habit of biting my nails. I've been painting them recently, which has stopped me and my nails have grown lovely, its just the problem of sore skin around them. Anyway, so I have been looking for a nice cream and I was quite happy when I saw I could choose this for my box.

Sasy and Savy Rose Lavender Hand N Nail Repair Creme. (£1.50)

The cream smells amazing! It is 'Rose and Lavender', and really is so nice. You only need a tiny bit and it just about does every finger on one hand. I've just been putting it on my nails and the sore areas around them, and it really soothes them. It isn't greasy or heavy like most hand creams, and it rubs in very easily so you can't even tell its on your hands.

I've been using it for about two weeks now and I can honestly say I wouldn't leave home without it. I carry it in my bag and apply it a few times a day, and it has really helped my hands and my nails too. I'm going to look into buying a full sized tube of this to use, even though I really like this mini because its so easy to carry around.

I will post some pictures of my hands before and after using it to show you how good it has worked.

Latest In Beauty Box - April 2012

Elemental Herbology Facial Hydrator, Radiance Peel Masque & Facial Clenser, Dr.Organic Organic Rose Otto Skin Lotion, and Sasy n Savy Rose Lavender Hand n Nail Repair Creme. (£1.50)

So yesterday my second Latest in Beauty box arrived through the post. For those who don't know, its similar to Glossy Box, just on a smaller scale in the sense of the sample sizes and price. I loved my March picks, but this month there really wasn't anything on the list that I really wanted to try. I'm always up for trying skin care products, so I opted for those, as well as some different lotions.

I'm not overly blown away at first sight by these, but I'm never one to judge too much before I've used something. Reviews will more than likely follow in the future.

Review: Ginvera Green Tea BB Cream

I got this sample with my first ever Latest In Beauty sample box, which is a cute little alternative to other monthly boxes (and a LOT cheaper!)

It's a BB Cream, which I have always been absolutely against ever since I bought the Garnier one and hated it. I found that it didn't do any of the things it said on the tin, so to speak, and it left my skin feeling really horrible and heavy. Now this, on the other hand, I LOVE!

It's enriched with Green Tea and Hyaluronic Acid, and says that it 'provides the benefits of blemish free concealing, sun block effects.' I was really funny about trying this due to my previous hatred, but I am so glad I chose it. It says to apply after your daily facial care, and to gently tap the cream onto your skin for even coverage.

It came out really watery (as you can see below) and was quite a thin consistency, which didn't fill me with much hope. But as soon as I applied it to my skin, it covered my pores and small blemishes in seconds. It is the perfect colour match for my skin too (the colour I was sent is Nude Cover)

It isn't greasy, it's light and you can't even feel it on your skin. I absolutely love it, I'm such a big fan. I've used it a few times now and I've found it makes my skin feel lovely and soft after too. You can buy the full sized bottle for about £15 here, and this is the best price I've found so far.

So overall review: amazing product! I am definitely going to invest in this very soon.

Latest In Beauty Box

A couple of weeks ago I was debating over subscribing to one of the monthly makeup boxes, and went on a little internet search to find out which was best.

I came across a website that offered small samples of three products (which you get to choose yourself) all for £1.50, which you pay for by text. Well, my box arrived this morning, and here are the contents:

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream
Floris London Sirena Perfume
Super by Dr Nicholas Perricone Bright Eyed Flawless Eye Cream

They are small samples, the kind that you'd get in a magazine, but for £1.50 I really cannot complain.

I shall be trying these products out soon, so expect reviews.

Latest In Beauty - Little Beauty Box.

I constantly read other people's blogs and feel compelled to try one of the monthly sample makeup boxes that seem to be popping up. I see a lot of people use Glossybox, which basically sends you a mix of 5 different beauty samples every month for £12.95 (including p+p.)

I did a bit of web searching and came across Latest In Beauty, which is a similar concept which sends you three small samples every month. Now for the good bit, you get to pick your own samples and read reviews before you buy, which is always good... AND... its only £1.50! (I kid you not)

Now obviously the products might not be as good as the ones you receive in Glossybox, and will definitely be considerably smaller, but I thought it was a good idea if you want to try something that may not be as mainstream.

This is what I chose:
My samples should be here in 5 days, so no doubt there will be reviews to follow next week.
