A little catch up.

So this past week has been so hectic and I haven't had change to blog or really do anything. I have a million and one university projects to get done, I've been working loads, I spent the weekend in London and to top it all off my wisdom teeth are giving me absolute grief so I've been ill!

So, my hometown football team (Chesterfield F.C) played in the JPT final at Wembley on Sunday, which was pretty amazing to be honest. I'm not the biggest football fan, but I do enjoy it sometimes, so I decided to go along with my boyf and his family. I'd never been to Wembley before and I was actually quite taken back with the size and the atmosphere. Anyway so I don't ramble about football, we won :) which made the whole day even better!

London... I absolutely adore London! I know I probably wouldn't if i lived there and everyone always asks what the big deal is, but I just love the city. I was in my element over the weekend, doing all the touristy things (such a guilty pleasure) and I really really enjoyed the whole few days!

Here are a few photos:

Review: Avon Idea Flawless Foundation

I bought Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation a few weeks ago and I've been using it everyday, and I have to say I'm really happy with it. I think I got it for around £10 with some offer, which is around the normal price I would pay.

You don't need a lot of it to get a really good, even coverage. It isn't too thick either, which I have trouble with when choosing a foundation, and it doesn't feel caked on and clumpy on your skin. I love it!

I chose the colour 'Shell', as I always seem to choose the wrong colour to suit me because my skin changes so much. I can go from being really pale to having a deep tan, and at the minute my foundations don't seem to work with me... this colour was perfect and blended really well to my skin.

One problem I found was when I first started using it, the pump was really stiff and I found that you couldn't do a tiny squirt. Every time I went to pump some out it felt like half the bottle came out with it, which was a bit of a waste as I never needed as much as I had. If this does happen and you apply too much onto your skin, it does not look as 'flawless' as explained in the name. I worked the foundation with a brush and it soon evened out.

I have it on here: (its an awful photo and I really need to invest in some lash extensions)

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this product and I'm going to continue using it, unless I obviously find something that works better, but I really highly doubt it on a budget like mine at the minute.

Latest In Beauty - Little Beauty Box.

I constantly read other people's blogs and feel compelled to try one of the monthly sample makeup boxes that seem to be popping up. I see a lot of people use Glossybox, which basically sends you a mix of 5 different beauty samples every month for £12.95 (including p+p.)

I did a bit of web searching and came across Latest In Beauty, which is a similar concept which sends you three small samples every month. Now for the good bit, you get to pick your own samples and read reviews before you buy, which is always good... AND... its only £1.50! (I kid you not)

Now obviously the products might not be as good as the ones you receive in Glossybox, and will definitely be considerably smaller, but I thought it was a good idea if you want to try something that may not be as mainstream.

This is what I chose:
My samples should be here in 5 days, so no doubt there will be reviews to follow next week.

Getting back into photography.

As many of you might not know, I used to be into photography so much! I've grown up with all sorts of cameras around me and my Dad always always had a camera in his hand at every opportunity.

Over the past year or two while I've been at university I've kind of forgot about my passion, and let it slip away. I guess I've been so busy with work and stuff I've almost forgot about it.

Well, I've decided I'm going to make the most of the resources I have and start back again!
I absolutely love my Nikon D40 (it might not be the best ever but it works for me) and I definitely need to get some use, so I can then say "Oh I've used my Nikon so much, maybe I should move onto something else?" (Hint hint Dad!)

I still take the occasional set of photos here and there, and I do tend to take my camera with me wherever I go, even though it might only be to capture family moments and things. I found my old Flickr account, and I've spent some time jazzing it up to use from now on! You can find that here.

Here are some photographs I've just put up, from a November trip to London:

The cutest phone case EVER!

So, I saw an iPhone case like this a few weeks ago on another blog, and I HAD to have it! I'd just got my iPhone and was slightly obsessed, so I went searching for one... and found about a million on good old Ebay.
They ranged from 99p to about £6, from Hong Kong to England.

I read that the girl I found this from had gone for a cheap one from China, so naturally I decided to do the same and go for this one. (anything to save money!)
I ordered it about three weeks ago, and it got here today, so I'm not really sure if thats good or bad?!

It is so so cute! It comes with a little fluffy tail too that you can use as a stand. Just what everyone needs.
I've just not decided how I'm going to fit it in my pocket, or my bag, or look like a 20 year old... but oh well!
The only problem is the lock button is covered by the casing, which is obviously a big problem, so to be honest I doubt I'm ever going to use it...

but it seemed like such a good idea at the time. Plus its cute right?
(Obviously I'm drawn to cute things too easily...)

This week I want... Boy London

This week, I'm really wanting a Boy London t-shirt.
I've been looking at them on the website for quite a while now and I'm literally hovering over the buy button on about four of them.

For anyone who isn't too familiar, Boy was founded in 1977 and was really made famous by New Romantics and Punks, as well as the likes of Madonna and Boy George. It continued to popularize in the 80's and 90's, but soon dropped out of sight.
Well its now back! You can see the range of t-shirts, leggings, vests, hats etc here.
Or, so I've just learnt, Selfridges in London now stock the label too! This excites me a lot, as I'm going to be in London this weekend and may definitely have to pop and purchase a t-shirt.

Anyway, the designs are really simple, but they are still based on the original designs from the 80's. I'd definitely say that this is going to blow up again, so I definitely need to bag myself a part of this amazing label.

My dissertation reading material

Really cannot complain too much...

Diverse Magazine this week..

So, for one of my uni modules I've had to create and market an online news website/magazine. I teamed up with four other girls in my group and created Diverse Magazine.

We have topics ranging from domestic violence to a student doing gay porn, everything and anything! Were aiming our magazine at mainly women but obviously we want men to read too.

So it would be great if we could get some support guys, so if you have a spare few minutes take a look and click on the Diverse Magazine link!

(Also, if anyone has an interesting story to tell or knows of anyone who does, get in touch!)

Thank you!

Tk Maxx Buy

Look what I found! I love anything remotely nautical (hence the anchor tattoo on my wrist) and when I saw this I HAD to buy it. They're two anchor door hangers, how cool?!
They're really distressed and the wood is starting to show through the red paint, so they look really vintage and rustic.

I think they're really going to show off well in my room. The walls are a pale blue colour so it fits well, and I have a few red pieces and pillows around so it will tie in nicely.
I'd definitely urge anyone who loves vintagey-type pieces to take a look in your nearest Tk Maxx, they had amazing wooden trunks and birdcages that I wish I had the space for.

Anchor Door Hanger - £12 (Tk Maxx)

I am really kicking myself today!

Right, I had the option to buy a beautiful tan Patrick Cox bag from Tk Maxx today, and I missed my chance! I am so gutted, so much so that I felt the need to blog about it. It was beautiful, and was £90, which worked out that I would have saved about £300 off the actual price. I know, I'm stupid right?!

This is the bag: (the one in the shop was more of a bowler-shape)

I am so tempted to go back next week and see if it is still there... and spend some of my savings. For now I am frantically googling him and his bags to try and find another that I like or one I love even more, that isn't going to break my bank.

Okay, rant over.
(As you can see, I'm really gutted about this!)

Review: Tesco Nail Varnish

I did a post the other day about thing I had bought, these two Tesco nail varnishes being some of them.
I'd heard good things about their nail varnish, so I decided to try them out, and I was pleasantly surprised!
These two small bottles are 99p each and come in a huge range of colours, from light pastel to dark metallics, I and they are actually really good.
I applied a layer of my Barry M basecoat, topcoat and nail hardener first, (which I highly recommend!) then it took about two coats of the Tesco colours to get a full coverage. It was so shiny and perfect too. To finish, I topped them off with another layer of the Barry M nail varnish I mentioned previously.
This is the end product (I apologise for my horrible nails at the moment.)
Overall the varnish came out really shiny and the colours are so nice to say I paid 99p. I'm definitely going to buy more and build up a little collection.

Today I had the intention of nipping into town with mother so she could get a few bits, but it turned into a little bit of a shopping trip.

ASOS Fashion Finder

Cupcakes

Look how cute these are! I took a little trip to tesco the other day and while walking round I found these cupcakes. You get two in a box, they were below £2, and they are so nice!
I got strawberries and cream flavour and I think I might be addicted.
